About the Community
Indian Acres Club of Thornburg (IACT) is a private, member-owned recreational campground located on 802 acres at 6437 Morris Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553 — just off I-95 Exit 118, approximately 60 miles south of Washington D.C. and 60 miles north of Richmond, Virginia.
Founded as a family-oriented camping community, Indian Acres has grown into one of the most amenity-rich private campgrounds on the East Coast. Members enjoy three swimming pools, five scenic lakes, a 9-hole golf course, an 18-hole putt-putt course, tennis and pickleball courts, an on-site restaurant, live music events, and much more — all included in the annual dues of $1,656, with electric included.
Lots at Indian Acres are deeded real property. You own your lot outright, just like any other piece of real estate. You can sell it, pass it to family, or finance it. The campground is open all year — members may use up to 210 nights per year at their choosing. A strict No Residency policy is enforced at all times.
The campground serves families from across Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and the greater Mid-Atlantic region. It is one of the largest and most established private campground communities in Spotsylvania County.
